Termination of studies regulations for academy students and pre-academic students for the 2023-2024 academic year

  1. Candidates for studies at the University of Haifa who decide to cancel their registration to the university, must notify the Registration Department in writing (by e-mail: undergraduate students: undergraduate@univ.haifa.ac.il, graduate students: graduate@univ.haifa.ac.il, Pre-Academic Preparatory Program students: rdjanshvi@univ.haifa.ac.il).
  2. Students studying at the University of Haifa who decide to withdraw from their studies must notify the Student and Academic Services Department in the Student Administration Division (by registered mail / e-mail: AMT-Fee-Department@univ.haifa.ac.il / via the Student Portal).
  3. The day on which the student’s notification is received at the Student Administration Division will be considered the day their studies have been terminated or their registration has been cancelled .Notification given by phone and/or orally will not be considered eligible cancellation / termination.
  4. Student who did not notify about cancellation of registration / termination of studied and did not prepare a study plan will be charged of full first payment.
  5. Student who did not notify about cancellation of registration / termination of studies and prepare a study plan will be charged of the full tuition fees, plus the ancillary payments, or the full first payment, whichever the higher.

  6. Students and candidates who cancel their registration, or terminate their studies, will be responsible for paying all or part of the tuition fees in accordance with the university’s regulations as detailed below:

Cancellation of registration / termination of studies for Academic and Pre-Academic Preparatory Program students (October – July and the Mivchar College in Bnei Brak students) who started their studies in the first semester of 2023-2024:

Note: For students who terminate their studies at the end of the first semester – the minimum tuition fees that they will be charged will not be less than the product of the total credit points / hours that are registered to their credit multiplied by the percentage of the tuition fees per credit point / hour.

Due to the war, students who started their studies in the first semester of 2023-2024 who announce the cancellation of their studies will be charched as follows:

Until 20.01.2024 (includes) – A charge of the full first payment

From 21.01.2024 until 16.03.2024 –  A charge of 50% of the set tuition fees, plus all ancillary payments, or the full first payment, whichever the higher.

From 17.03.2024 until 12.05.2024 – A charge of 75% of the set tuition fees, plus all ancillary payments, or the full first payment, whichever the higher.

From 13.05.2024 – A charge of the full tuition fees, plus the ancillary payments or the full first payment, whichever the higher.

Cancellation of registration / termination of studies for candidates and students who started their studies in the second semester of 2023-2024:

From 18.03.2024 until 14.04.2024 – A charge of half of the first payment,

From 15.04.2024 until 12.05.2024 – A charge of the full first payment,

From 13.05.2024 until 09.06.2024 – A charge of 50% of the set tuition fees, plus all ancillary payments, or the full first payment, whichever the higher of the two.

From 10.06.2024 – A charge of the full tuition fees, plus the ancillary payments or the full first payment, whichever the higher.

Cancellation of registration / termination of studies for candidates and students who started their studies in the summer semester of 2023-2024:

Due to the war, students who started their studies in the summer semester of 2023-2024 who announce the cancellation of their studies will be charched as follows:

Until 01.08.2024 (includes) – Full refund of the first payment

From 02.08.2024 until 15.08.2024 – A charge of the full first payment,

From 16.08.2024 – A charge of the full tuition fees, plus the ancillary payments or the full first payment, whichever the higher.

 

Termination of studies for doctoral students

1. Doctoral students who are registered for studies and terminate their studies on their own initiative before the end of the first semester, will pay only the ancillary payments.

2. Doctoral students who terminate their studies on their own initiative after the end of the first semester – will pay 50% of their annual tuition fees plus all the ancillary payments.

3. Doctoral students who started their studies in the second semester and terminated their studies during the same semester – will only pay the ancillary payments.

4. Doctoral students who terminate their studies on their own initiative (whether he started his studies in the first semester or whether he started his studies in the second semester) after the end of the second semester – will pay 100% of their annual tuition fees plus all the ancillary payments.

5. If a doctoral student’s studies were terminated by the University for academic reasons, he/she will only pay the ancillary payments.

 

Termination of studies regulations for the men’s Mivchar College in Bnei Brack Pre-Academic Preparatory Program that starts in January – will be published separately.

Cancellation of registration / termination of studies for the 30+ Pre-Academic Preparatory Program including in the Mivchar College in Bnei Brack:

Students studying in the 30+ Pre-Academic Preparatory Program who decide to cancel their registration or terminate their studies are to notify the Student and Education Services Department in the Student Administration Division by registered mail / e-mail: AMT-Fee-Department@univ.haifa.ac.il or through the Student Portal.

The day on which the student’s notification is received at the Student Administration Division will be considered the day their studies have been terminated.

Notification given by telephone and/or orally will not be considered eligible termination / cancellation.

Students and candidates who cancel their registration, or terminate their studies will be responsible for paying all or part of the tuition fees in accordance with the University’s regulations detailed below:

Cancellation of registration / termination of studies regulations for the course completion programs of the university Pre-Academic Preparatory Program

Students who will notify, at any time, of the cancellation of studies in the course completion program will be charged the full tuition fees for the program.

Termination of studies due to disciplinary or academic reasons

Students whose studies have been terminated for academic or disciplinary reasons, both in academic studies and in pre-academic studies, will be required to pay tuition fees and the ancillary payments until the day their studies are terminated, and in accordance with the dates indicated above.

Notes:

  • In the event of the partial or full cancellation of a scholarship and/or of tuition fees sponsored by a third party and/or an exemption of any kind that a student received either in academic studies or in pre-academic studies – the student is required to immediately pay the balance of the tuition fees debt, if and to the extent that there is
  • The tuition fees regulations in general and the cancelling of registration / termination of studies regulations in particular also apply to students who are employees of the University, and their relatives.
